What you need for your IELTS booking in Nepal
A valid identification document. When you register, make sure you have a valid passport at hand. Please note you will have to present the same passport that you use for registration on test day. A different, invalid or expired passport will not be accepted, and you will not be allowed to sit the test. If you're under 18, your parents will also need to complete the Parent consent for candidates under 18 form. IELTS exam booking is not recommended for anyone under 16.
You can pay your IELTS test fee from any of the below options
Note: All payments must be made to "British Council Services Nepal Pvt Ltd".
Option 1: Online payment through e-Sewa
Step 1: Complete your IELTS registration in Nepal and you will be able to see the eSewa payment option. Click on that option, to be redirected to the eSewa portal and complete your payment.
Step 2: After you complete your payment, for confirmation of your IELTS exam booking, you need to send an email stating the following details to payment@britishcouncil.org
- Your Full name
- Copy of your valid passport
- Your IELTS reference number. You will find your IELTS reference number in the confirmation email you received from the test centre.

Option 2: Online payment to Standard Chartered Bank with the account holder's name - British Council Services Nepal Pvt Ltd
Step 1: You can pay your IELTS test fees in Nepal by transferring the amount to SCB bank account 01-312023601 from your own bank account directly.
Step 2: After you complete your payment, for confirmation of your IELTS exam date booking, you would need to send an email stating the following details to payment@britishcouncil.org
- Full name
- Copy of your valid passport
- IELTS reference number
- Screenshot of payment confirmation
Option 3: Online payment to Nabil Bank with account holder's name - British Council Services Nepal Pvt Ltd
Step 1: You can pay your IELTS test fees by transferring the amount to NABIL bank account 1701017501670 from your own bank account directly.
Step 2: After you complete your payment, for confirmation of your IELTS date booking, you would need to send an email stating the following details to payment@britishcouncil.org
- Your Full name
- Copy of valid passport
- Your IELTS reference number. You will find your IELTS Reference Number in the confirmation email you received from the test centre.

OPTION 4: Visit Nabil Bank's branches/counters in Butwal, Chitwan, Biratnagar, Bhairawa, Nepalgunj, Birtamode, Pokhara or Kathmandu) to make your IELTS payment.
OPTION 5: Make your payments through Standard Chartered Bank in Naxal (Sunday- Friday, 10:00 am- 2:00 pm).
Follow the process below for your offline payment through Nabil Bank and Standard Chartered Bank.
Step 1: Please fill out the correct deposit slip. (Sample available in the download section below)
Step 2: Once you have filled the deposit slip, please check that the details that you have filled in are correct. Incomplete deposit slips will not be accepted.
Step 3: Deposit the money along with the deposit slip at the payment collection counter.
Step 4: The bank will give you back the deposit slip. You need to scan the deposit slip along with the copy of your passport and send this to payment@britishcouncil.org.
Step 5: Once the British Council has received the deposit slip (step 4) you will receive an email confirming that payment is received and that your IELTS examination date is confirmed. Confirmation of the test venue will be provided 5 days before the test date by email to the email address provided at the time of registration.
After you have made your IELTS exam booking
You will receive emails confirming:
- the start time of your IELTS test and the venue address
- your IELTS Speaking Test date
You will also receive your IELTS Reference Number to access the Test Taker Portal (IELTS on paper portal | IELTS on computer portal). Login by entering your IELTS reference number and email ID. Your IELTS reference number can be found in your confirmation email. Please make sure that you have included your email address correctly when you book your test.
