The British Council announces the opening of British Council IELTS Awards 2016 with the objective of supporting Nepalese students intending to study in an English-speaking country. Most importantly, it is a commitment to realising British Council’s aspiration of enabling young people to achieve their life goals.

This year two Nepali candidates get an award of NRs. 5, 00, 000 each towards the cost of tuition fees.

Who can apply

  • be a resident and citizen of Nepal
  • attend a higher education institution that accepts IELTS as part of its admission requirements
  • begin an undergraduate or postgraduate programme outside Nepal in the 2016 academic year
  • have taken their most recent IELTS test with the British Council, from December 1, 2014 to July 14, 2016.
  • be able to provide an acceptance letter from the attending institution by August 19, 2016.
