IELTS Partner Summit
Friday 15 August 2025

The British Council Nepal celebrated a memorable event of the IELTS Partner Summit on 15 August 2025 in Kathmandu.

The event brought together a range of IELTS partners to celebrate our work in helping young Nepali students and professionals gain access to international education and career development opportunities.

The celebration reflected the strong relationship between the British Council and IELTS partners, and it reinforced our collective commitment towards enhancing education opportunities in Nepal by connecting Nepalese with international qualifications from diverse fields.

The event honoured outstanding partners who demonstrated exceptional dedication and contributions to IELTS test volumes from April 2024 to March 2025.

A total of 20 awards were presented in various categories. The top-performing institute (Platinum Partner) was Orbit Medical Entrance Pvt. Ltd., and the top-performing association was ECAN.

Global Channel Partner campaign launch

We also launched the Global Channel Partners’ Campaign to recognise and reward our top IELTS B2B partners. This campaign aims to give everyone a fair chance to win – rewarding not just those with the highest registration numbers, but also those showing the biggest year-on-year growth. This means both large and smaller partners can compete.

Top-performing partners will be invited to the fully funded closing ceremony at the British Council headquarters in London, followed by an educational trip in the UK.

IELTS उपहार Campaign

During the event, we were delighted to announce the launch of the third season of the IELTS उपहार Campaign 3.0 – an exciting collaboration between the British Council, Turkish Airlines, Pathao, and Safari.

Turkish Airlines has joined as the official airline partner, Pathao as the official mobility partner, and Safari as the official luggage partner. This season, test takers have the opportunity to win उपहार on every test day, every week, and every month, culminating in a grand bumper उपहार.

Prizes include one-way air tickets to the UK, USA, Australia, or Europe; an Apple MacBook Air; premium Safari suitcases; ride discounts; and restaurant vouchers. The bumper prize offers four one-way tickets to different destinations — three to the UK, USA, or Europe, generously sponsored by Turkish Airlines, and one to Australia (redeemable with any airline except Turkish Airlines). Pathao is providing 30% discounts on rides ( up to NPR 50) on test days and 30% off food vouchers for selected restaurants to lucky winners, while Safari is offering high-quality suitcases.

To be eligible for the campaign, candidates must book and pay for the IELTS with the British Council between 15 August and 31 October for any IELTS on paper or IELTS on computer test dates from 15 August 2025 onwards. Further details about the offer can be found at: http://www.britishcouncil.org.np

On the occasion, H.E. Rob Fenn, British Ambassador to Nepal, said, ’The UK’s world-class education system creates opportunities that can transform lives, and it is encouraging to see more Nepali students than ever choosing the UK for their studies. This growth reflects the dedication and professionalism of our education partners in Nepal, who work tirelessly to guide students towards qualifications recognised and respected worldwide. Together with the British Council and the Government of Nepal, we are committed to strengthening educational links and ensuring that young people have the skills, knowledge and experiences they need to achieve their ambitions and contribute to Nepal’s prosperity."

Pratistha Thapa Rayamajhi, Country Exams Director, British Council Nepal, expressed her enthusiasm for the event and said, "It is our honour to bring together all our partners and stakeholders for an evening filled with celebration of outstanding performances and their support to the British Council. Their dedication to empowering young Nepalis open doors to transformative opportunities, and together, we are building a brighter future.’
