The British Council is sourcing and selecting a Short-term Consultant to support the British Council team with background research of Nepal’s climate change responses and issues studied through a lens of gender and innovative or creative responses. Insights will be fed into project design that intends to build Nepali leaders’ capacities in fostering stronger, nuanced and innovative solutions for climate change resilience.

Role overview

Qualifications required to apply for this post are:

  • Proficiency in climate change issues through the professional engagement of at least 2 years. Specialisation in gender or creative industries is desirable.
  • Experience of conducting interdisciplinary research on complex and intersectional issues/contexts or experience of monitoring and analysing existing literature or media coverage of specific subjects.
  • Experience of writing on issues of environment or experience of writing for international organisations 
  • Relevant background supporting international organisations to develop and deliver project outcomes as technical support
