Project description – About the project
Voluntary Service Overseas (VSO) Nepal’s Sisters for Sisters' (SfS-II) Education project second phase is funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) Girls’ Education Challenge and is running from 2017 – 2021. The British Council’s English and Digital for Girls’ Education (EDGE) project is one of the components of the wider SfS-II programme which aims to enhance participants’ English proficiency, digital skills and awareness of social issues.
The EDGE project includes a focus on three strands: English, digital and social skills. It is available in three phases: Foundation (approximately 90 hours), Consolidation (approximately 120 hours), and Extension (approximately 120 hours). Materials have been written in English by a team of writers in South Asia.
To deliver the initial and refresher Peer Group Leaders (PGLs) training on foundation resources, and observe EDGE clubs, the British Council Nepal is looking to contract Master Trainers between the periods of April 2018 to December 2018.
The Master Trainers will be required to attend Training of Trainers (TOT) organized by the British Council. They will also be required to deliver 8 days of the training to PGLs which includes both initial and refresher training. The PGLs will be selected from the cohort of existing big sisters who will facilitate the club sessions to the club members who are the existing small sisters.
Role description – about the role
The role can be divided into 3 main focus areas:
- Attendance of Initial and Refresher ToT: Master Trainers will be required to attend 5 days of Initial ToT and 2 x 2 days Refresher ToT organized by the British Council.
- Delivery of Initial and Refresher PGL trainings: Master Trainers will be required to deliver 8 days of training; 4 days of Initial PGL training, and 2 lots of 2 days refresher training in Surkhet. The training sessions will take place in district headquarters.
- Club observation:Master Trainers will be required to visit clubs and observe club sessions in Surkhet district. This will require periodic travelling, providing support to PGLs and completion and submission of detailed club observation forms in club visits.

Qualifications and experience required
Essential
· A relevant university degree (i.e. education, gender)
· Qualification in the teaching /training of English
· At least 5 years relevant teaching experience,
· At least 2 years training experience, preferably some of which is with groups of adolescent girls
· Digital skills
· Understanding of child safeguarding
DesirableExperience of teaching /training with digital content.
