Shakshyam: Quality Education, Quality Schools: developing teaching and learning quality in municipal education systems  

Shakshyam: QEQS is a three-year capacity building and school improvement programme that takes a whole-school approach to ensure quality education in the partner municipality in Nepal.

The programme aims the following;  

  1. The municipality has the capacity to monitor and evaluate teaching and learning quality, design, implement and assess teachers’ professional development initiatives 
  2. Head Teachers and teachers improve their classroom methodologies and English proficiency, strengthen inclusion and the quality of teaching and learning in their schools 
  3. Students develop their English and life skills in classrooms and while participating in community projects and in-school clubs 
  4. The municipality develops a team of local teacher educators and sustains and supports Continuous Professional Development for local teachers.
