IELTS Test Fees
The IELTS test fee is NPR 16, 950 with effect from 1 April 2016
Examination Dates and Locations
The British Council offers IELTS tests in Kathmandu, Bhairahawa, Biratnagar, Pokhara and Chitwan.
Places are assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so we strongly recommend that you register online at least two months prior to the test date. Please note, once all the test places have been assigned and the session is full, the test will no longer appear on our online registration system.
You will receive an SMS two days before the test date confirming the venue for your test and the timetable. Alternately, you can also check your venue details here. So please make sure that you include your correct email address and mobile number while registering for IELTS.
We recommend that candidates register five weeks before their chosen test date but places may be available after this date. Check live information on test place availability.
PLEASE NOTE: WRIST WATCHES ARE NOT ALLOWED INSIDE THE EXAM HALL INCLUDING DURING YOUR SPEAKING TEST.
Notice about IELTS:
This is to inform all prospective and current IELTS candidates that the IELTS fee is NPR 16,950 with effect from April 1, 2016. There are no extra charges payable to British Council for registration for IELTS. In the case that you are registering through an agent (Consultancy) you may be charged a service fee. British Council Nepal does not take any responsibility for this transaction as it is solely between the candidate and the agent.
Please note that registration for IELTS is strictly on a first come first serve basis depending on availability of seats for a particular exam date. The IELTS registration process is an automated process that cannot be manipulated. No candidate is given special preference at the time of registration and registering through any particular consultancy does not guarantee a seat in any exam date. We inform all candidates not to make any payment to a consultancy service or to register through such agents who claim that they can guarantee you a seat for a given test date. Agents are also warned not to provide false guarantees to candidates about availability of seats.
British Council Nepal takes such false claims very seriously and reserves the right to take action against such agents.
